Covet, Covet Pure Bloom by Sarah Jessica parker
After the success of her first Perfume Lovely, Sarah Jessica Parker started work on developing a new perfume, the fragrance took nearly two years to make and Covet was created and released in 2007.
Sarah developed this fragrance with perfumer Frank Volkl of Firmenich and Perfume consultant Ann Gottieb. The perfume contains top notes of wet greens, geranium leaves, Sicilian lemon, lavender and chocolate. The middle notes contain, honeysuckle, magnolia muget &Michelia and bottom notes of musk, vetiver, bois de cashmere, teakwood and amber.
Covet contrasts with her first perfume Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker, a gentle fresh smelling fragrance. Covet is a unique scent, it is bold with seductive blends of chocolate and musks. It lasts throughout the day, it is a strong scent but not over powering. It has been described as a classic feminine fragrance.
The perfume bottle for Covet was designed by Chad Levigne, it consists of glass bottle in the shape of cabochon gemstone with a gold neck, the cap is in the shape of a flower in a smoky topaz shade.
The commercial for Covet is set in Paris where she sees a bottle of Covet displayed in a shop window and breaks in to get it. Before she can grab the perfume, the police arrest her and whilst in police car, she asks the police officer if she can try just a spray of Covet, she is sent to jail for the theft. The commercial ends with her saying, 'I had to have it!' The commercial promotes the perfume as implusive and irresistible.
In 2008 Covet pure bloom was launched, a sister fragrance to Covet. Covet pure bloom is a fruity floral fragrance containing top notes of plum, mandarin and coconut water. It contains heart notes of tuberose, pikake and jasmine and base notes of musks, amber, sandalwood and orris.
The bottle is the same as the original Covet, however the colour has changed from green to an amethyst purple.
