Clive Christian No. 1 Pure Perfume (the most expensive perfume in the world)
Clive Christian No. 1 Pure Perfume is the most expensive Perfume in the world. It contains the rarest and finest ingredients including sandalwood from India and vanilla from Tahiti. As some of the ingredients are so rare, it may not be possible to create the same Perfume year on year.
Clive Christian is a very successful interior designer and designs furniture for the most elite homes in the world. He expanded his business portfolio in 1999, when he bought the Crown perfumery in London. This perfume house was established in 1872 and it acquired its name because of Queen Victoria granting the use of royal crown, showing that the perfumes produced were a mark of quality and excellence. To carry on this high standard Clive wanted to make the best perfume known to mankind regardless of rarity and price. He told French perfumer professor Roja Dove, “Money is no object”.
The perfume bottle itself is beautiful, it is handmade crystal bottle with 24 carat gold plated sterling silver neck, with a sparkling diamond. The stopper is in the shape of the Queen Victoria crown.
Clive Christian No. 1 Pure Perfume costs $2,485 for 1oz/30ml due to the precious ingredients and elaborate designed bottle. Only 1000 bottles for men and 1000 bottles for woman are released each year.
Clive Christian has developed other fragrances such as, Clive Christian 1872 perfume. This perfume was named after crown perfumery, 1872 was the year it was established. It has a floral and citrus scent with top notes of bergamot, blueberry, lemon, pineapple & rosemary. The cost of this perfume is $490, there is also a perfume spray version which costs slightly less.
